An immersive sound company

aaro designs speakers, electronics and software together, so a system sets itself up, tunes itself to the room and grows from one speaker to a full theater.

Our principles

Sound comes first

Acoustics decide the product. A feature that costs sound quality doesn't ship, and every speaker has to be excellent with the microphones off and no subscription.

The room is part of the instrument

We design for real rooms, with sofas, glass and awkward corners, and we measure them.

One is complete

A single aaro one is a finished system. Nothing is held back to sell a second speaker; each one you add makes the sound more immersive, not only louder.

Quietly advanced

The engineering is serious, and you never have to see it.

Open by design

aaro works with the music services, TVs and smart homes people already use, and we publish exactly what works.

Built to keep

Local-first software, a physical switch for every sensor, replaceable parts and at least seven years of updates.

Design and acoustics, decided together

The form of aaro one came from its drivers. It grew to 266 by 294 millimetres to give its two woofers 4.5 litres of sealed air, and it is wrapped in knit because sound has to leave it in every direction.

Every decision is checked twice: once with measurements, and once by listening, level-matched and blind.

Our privacy promise

A physical switch

One slider under every aaro speaker disconnects every microphone and sensor.

No cameras

Presence sensing registers points in space and never makes images.

Nothing recorded

Room audio is processed on the speaker and never stored.

No advertising

There is no advertising in the app, and we don't sell data.

Optional cloud

Voice and cloud features are optional. The sound never depends on them.

Part of Flow Seven

aaro builds the hardware. Its sister platforms do the rest: Flow Music handles setup, playback and grouping across your speakers, and Imersa connects them to the lights and scenes in your home.
