Immersive hi-fi for real rooms

aaro speakers measure your room, tune themselves to it and play together, from a single aaro one to a nine-speaker theater.

Serious sound used to mean choosing amplifiers, running cables and learning acoustics. Smart speakers made music easy and stopped there. aaro builds the whole system, from the drivers to the app, so great sound fits into an ordinary living room and looks after itself.

About aaro

A day in one room

The drawing beside the story is the same living room seen from above, with the sound running live. Scroll through the day.

Morning

One speaker

A single aaro one plays all the way around itself, with two drivers aimed at the ceiling for height. It fills the room from wherever it sits.

Late afternoon

Two speakers

Add a second and the two find each other, measure the distance between them and play as a stereo pair. Their sound is timed to reach the sofa together.

Evening

Seven speakers

Keep adding. Each speaker takes its role, from left and centre to the sides and the rear. Films and Dolby Atmos music move all around you.

Room tuning

Bass piles up in some places and drains away in others. Six microphones in each speaker measure the room, and aaro evens the bass out across the whole sofa. At 71 Hz the bass across the sofa varies by 14 dB before tuning and by 4 dB after.

How room tuning works

Night

Presence

Millimetre-wave sensors notice where people sit, without cameras. The sound recentres on whoever is listening and widens when someone joins.

Presence and privacy

The same living room at blue hour: sheer curtains glowing blue, a lamp on, a film on the screen and aaro one speakers on the sideboard and beside the sofa

Height without ceiling speakers

Two drivers in every aaro one fire at the ceiling, so films and Dolby Atmos music arrive from above. Nothing goes into the ceiling and no cable runs behind the walls.

aaro one

Sixteen drivers under one continuous knit: six electrostatic panels, six midrange drivers, two opposed woofers and two height drivers, each with its own amplifier. On its own it fills a room; with others it becomes a stereo pair or a full theater.

$1,099or $2,099 for a pair

For films and larger rooms, aaro sub adds deep bass from two opposed woofers. $899. aaro sub
